Amir Mahal

Amir Mahal" is a Royal destination to visit to that belongs to the family of Arcot. It is one of the prime places of interest in Chennai. Anna Nagar Tower

Anna Zoological Park

Catch up with tropical mammals, birds and reptiles at the Anna Zoological Park, which is the biggest in South Asia. Anna Zoological Park is open to public from 11 am to 7 pm. During the weekdays and on Sundays & Holidays, one can have access from 10 am to 8 pm.

Birla Planetarium

Birla Planetarium was constructed in the memory of B.M. Birla, the reputed industrialist. Birla Planetarium is located at Kottur near Anna University. Birla Planetarium is open to public from 10.45 am - 1.45pm and 3.45 pm. Contact: 24416751, 24410025

Connemara Public Library

Connemara Public Library is one of well known National Libraries. The Library has wide range of books and periodicals. The Library is situated at the Pantheon Road in Egmore.

Crocodile Bank

Crocodile Bank is near to Mamallapuram, about 42 km from Madras. This research centre is run by Romulus Whittaker. It was set up in 1976. Crocodile Bank was open to preserve the Irula (Snake catching). There are about 6,000 different species of crocodiles. A snake farm is also present where anti - venom is created. Numerous varieties of Indian and African Crocodiles are bred in the bank. The bank is open to public from 10.00 to 16.00.

Snake Park

Snake Park is based at the Sardar Vallabbai Patel Road. About 40 different species of common snakes can be seen here. The crocodiles, chameleons, monitor lizards and tortoises can also be seen. Snake Park is open to public from Wednesday to Monday.

Marina Beach

The prominent Marina beach is a must destination as far as Travel and Tourism in Chennai is concerned. It is one of the magnificent places of interest in Chennai. Marina Beach is situated at Kamarajar Road, 3 Km away from Chennai. Marina Beach can be visited during the early mornings or in the late evenings.


Valluvar Kottam is yet another architectural marvel destination built in the memory of poet-saint Thiruvalluvar. Valluvar Kottam is produced in the temple car format and has an auditorium which accommodates upto 4000 spectators. Valluvar Kottam temple is carved in granite fashioned in the Dravidian Architectural style. Entrance fee for Adult is Rs. 2/- and for Children is about Rs. 1/- . The memorial is open to public from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m
