There would be an increase in the price of milk in Tamil Nadu starting from the 1st of September. Minister Arcot N. Veeraswami and U. Mathivanan, minister for dairy development made the announcement while being in terms with the milk producers.

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) would be withdrawing all the air-conditioned bus services to the airport from the Chennai Central railway station due to its low demands. Transport Minister K N Nehru inaugurated the air-conditioned bus so that passengers could travel to the airport. These buses ply on different routes, one via T Nagar and DMS and the other via Adyar and Mandaveli.
The central government has sanctioned the project of Chennai Metro Rail Project that would be worth Rs 14,600 crores. The decision was made by the Cabinet Committee for Economic Affairs (CCEA), in New Delhi. The project is supposed to end by 2014-15.
Tamil Nadu government is going to subsidize gas cylinders at about 30 per cylinder. The decision was made after the central government determined to raise the cost of gas cylinder to about Rs. 50 each.
